Welcome to MCSM Cells

Starting in Spring 2013, two students, Mohammedasad Khan and Shriraj Shah, from the Advanced Science Research Program at Manhattan Center for Science and Mathematics have worked together on a cellular cancer research project under the supervision of a professor at Hunter College of the City University of New York. This page displays the progress of their work as well as any other achievement or recognition these students have obtained.

Research Question: How are the two genes of the phospholipase, PldB, and the protein kinase, TklA, ordered in terms of upstream/downstream effect and what roles do these genes play independently in regard to cell adhesion?

Purpose: Identifying the roles of the genes and which gene influences the other can lead to a gene-targeted approach in treating cancer patients.
